Rose and Sweet Pea Show 2024
The Burwash Horticultural Society Rose and Sweet Pea Show held on Saturday 15th June was yet another success. There were some excellent entries in the rose classes although numbers were slightly down caused by the difficult weather leading up to the show. Sweet pea numbers were encouraging but again limited by the weather which also meant that delphinium numbers continue to be disappointing. There were some lovely vases of flowers.
The craft entries were up in number and there were some excellent quilted items, cookery entry numbers continue to be on the low side.
The judges were very impressed by the high standard of exhibits on display particularly in the rose classes and the variety of quilted items.
The show was attended by many visitors who enjoyed the mixture of flowers and handicrafts on display and the refreshments proved very popular again so kindly provided by Sue Kork and Lynda Maude-Roxby, many thanks also to all those who made the delicious cakes enjoyed by everyone.
