Rose and Sweet Pea Show 2025

The Burwash Horticultural Society Rose and Sweet Pea Show held on Saturday 21st June 2025 was another great success. There were some excellent entries in the rose classes which was pleasing given the very hot weather leading up to the show. Sweet pea numbers were significantly up with some wonderful displays, and we also had more Delphiniums entered than in previous years. There were also some lovely vases of flowers and shrubs.

The craft entries were well up in number and there were some excellent quilted items, cookery entry numbers were also encouraging. There were also some beautiful paintings.

The judges were very impressed by the high standard of exhibits on display particularly in the rose and Sweet Pea  classes and the variety of quilted items which they said were outstanding.

The show was attended by many visitors who enjoyed the mixture of flowers and handicrafts on display and the refreshments proved very popular again so kindly provided by Sue Allan, Viv Wright and Lynda Maude-Roxby, many thanks also to all those who made the delicious cakes enjoyed by everyone.

The Queens Challenge Cup for the best Delphinium in the show was won by Ian Heathcote.

The Harry Relf Trophy for the best vase of sweet peas was won by Ian Heathcote.

The Court Farm Cup for the highest points in Roses was won by Fiona Barkley.
